Get to know me.

I’m Allen Roughton, a screenwriter, script reader and former science nerd. I guess I still am, but I now apply my research skills, writing craft and detailed approach to screenwriting instead of academic research. And the same passion to make a positive impact that kept me focused on exhaustive searches, experiments, and number crunching now fuels my verve for socially impactful storytelling. I write features, TV, and shorts and won the inaugural Killer Shorts Screenplay Competition with my script “An Apple a Day”.

As a reader and coordinator, I’ve had the opportunity to work with producers, agents, and managers to help them find great writers, scripts, and IP. But I also love working directly with writers to provide coverage and script notes.
